  • This morning, Bush announced his new pick for the Supreme Court. Judge Alito, who upheld a requirement for spousal notification in an abortion case, and also upheld a death sentence in the case of a man who argued that his lawyer had been ineffective. So we raced down to the Supreme Court. Planned Parenthood quickly organized a picket line. A group of high school students from Michigan loudly voiced their support for women's right to choose.

Malachy Kilbride, DC Anti-War Network (DAWN)

Statements were sent from:

  • Justice for James Yee ad hoc committee
  • Jumana Musa, International Human Rights Lawyer

And members of DAWN also contributed to the event by wearing their orange jumpsuits and black hoods, invoking the chilling image of the detainees at Gunatanamo Bay.
